V. Putin as 'very Western'?

A little gem appears in the NY Times piece about Larry King's interview of George and Laura Bush. King apparently described Vladimir Putin as "very Western," and Laura Bush "politely set Mr. King straight," the reporter writes. Mrs. Bush's interjection:

"Well, I don't know if I would say that. I think he's very Russian. But I like him a lot."

Very Russian, that's a good way to put it! The first lady is as sharp as a tack.
