Jokes about the EU

T'su at Writing From Detroit mentioned communist jokes a little while back, with this link in particular listing some rather humorous ones.

But how many EU jokes are there? At least a couple. Apparently Austria's ambassador to the UK recently lamented that she didn't know of any, so some folks told her some. Then readers responded to this BBC article with EU jokes of their own. Many of them, though, are just old jokes on country stereotypes. (Nationalist jokes are so 20th century!)

Some of the better EU ones:

"Look on the bright side: If all those Eurocrats weren't riding the gravy train in Brussels and Strasbourg, just think of the havoc they'd be wreaking in their own countries..!"

"How many people work at the European Commission? About a fourth of them."

And a non-EU classic:
"The problem with political jokes is that they get elected."

PS: Here's Jacques Chirac's funny comment about British food.
