The 'D-8 nations'

A Voice of America article describes the Iranian president meeting with leaders of "fellow D-8 nations." Apparently the term does not refer to Eminem's D-12 crew after several more members were killed, but rather the Developing Eight. (VOA perhaps should have defined D-8 in a following clause, as most news organizations do for both the G-8 and, as I have since learned, the D-8).

The D-8, it seems, should be called the DMM8, as all of its member states are majority Muslim. Members are Iran, Indonesia, Egypt, Malaysia, Turkey, Pakistan, Nigeria and Bangladesh. The group recently concluded its fifth summit, wherein they decided Iran's accession into the WTO should be more rapid, according to the Boston Globe. Other articles tell us that the group didn't specifically mention the UN's discussions of Iran's nuclear situation.

Now I know about the D-8.
