The "land bridge" returns; transcontinental travel ensues

Who needs the Ice Age? Apparently a Brit and a Frenchman walked across the Bering Strait from Alaska recently. Unfortunately, though, Russian authorities in Chokotka detained them over a passport stamp issue. The Brit is on a walking tour from Chile to the UK.

On another transcontinental explorer note, some (apparenty unemployed) moped riders from San Francisco headed south around Christmas (on mopeds) and now seem to be in Colombia. They keep a blog, although posts often end up like this:

yo, we in colombia stuck on an island waiting for a
boat for like three weeks now. theres no roads but
luckily there';s girls and lots of coke.

And there doesn't seem to be an archive of posts older than February, but I know I read some at the time.

Impressive adventures.
