US-UK spat over Eurofighter technology

I don't have much time to comment on this, but I'm throwing up some links for my own personal reference and archiving (which is a big part of why I even have a blog). Perhaps readers will find an interest as well.

Anyway, EU Referendum is on the ball again.

This article in the Times has the meat and potatoes, while this EU Referendum post is chock full of background and links to previous insightful posts on the same subject.

I know criticizing the press is the favorite hobby of many, but I think the EURef. blog has a good point on this one. Since the UK and EU are our best buds, it just doesn't make for exciting news when we have trade disputes. There's no chance of us going to war, and no one expects a real trade wall going up, so the scenarios get nowhere near as much press as US trade relations with China. However! This comes from most Americans having no idea how many EU goods (including goods from EU-owned companies) are in this country (and vice versa), and how important the transatlantic security relationship is.

Ok this post got longer than I expected, but there's more to come.

Update: Is this a trade dispute or a security dispute? Where is the root?
