I've traveled a little
Well, everyone else is doing it. I first saw this on Duck of Minerva a few days ago, and started to make up a map last week, but never published it. Now that Dan Drezner has done it, though, I think I will, too...
OK, I've traveled a good deal. I've been really fortunate. Anyway, here are the spots, from the top of my head:

The Southern Hemisphere stuff is totally because of a USMC deployment called Unitas. Google it if you want - all I could find was this site, which looks official, but hasn't been updated since 2002.
Marines had been doing the deployment annually, for about 40 years, to promote better relations with South American and African countries. I fear they might have cut it out of the budget, though. Perhaps the war on terror gets priority. Anyone know? E-mail me.
The site also has a "visited states map" of U.S. states. I would do that (forgive the bragging) but I've been to most U.S. states so there wouldn't be much point. My family traveled by car a lot. Again, I've been fortunate.
NON-EXCITING UPDATE: I just noticed that Duck of Minerva adds the following disclaimer to his U.S. state map posting:
...and I'm not counting the inside of airports or the corridors of an interstate.
Well, harrumph. If I applied that criterion, my U.S. state count would be substatially lower than the factually correct 45+ states. I'd have to remove Alaska (airport - even though I did step outside for just such a bragging purpose as this), several Southern states, and pretty much every state west of Illinois and east of Wyoming and Nevada.
