Bird flu hits France; gets out of control in Germany

Birds in France have it, birds in Hungary have it, Germany says it does not have the situation under control (honesty: refreshing yet depressing), the second Iraqi person has died from the H5N1, and the 19th Indonesian reached a similar fate.

American experts are pessimistic about our own preparedness. The federal government is recommending stocking up on bottled water and food. No word on duct tape and sheets of plastic yet.

Note: Ready.gov, home of the photo above, is not the U.S. source for bird flu information. That would be the straight-forwardly-named Pandemicflu.gov.

Sorry for going crazy with the links.
