Holidays = watching cable TV news

Another holiday, another few days on a more affluent family member's couch watching cable TV news. Everyone knows local TV news is bad, but how about the cable news? I don't have cable so I rarely get to experience its splendor. And my holiday viewing habits made me love newspapers - online or on paper - even more.
