Mel Gibson releases manifesto

The subject line of this post is a joke, but when I saw this CNN.com article, I really wanted to write an Onion article.
It would go something like this:
Mel Gibson, holed up in his heavily-armed compound in an obscure Turkish mountain village, held a press conference recently to announce his latest film project. Gibson's compatriots, identified by local authorities as a mix of Chechen rebels, Randy Weaver apologists, and Basques, remained silent as the spittle-emitting Gibson declared his plan for the world.
Maybe I'm just biased against bearded men.
