"Lawmakers From Both Parties Call for White House Shakeup"

So the NY Times has an article with the headline Lawmakers From Both Parties Call for White House Shakeup.

Call me crazy, but I read the article looking for a quote from a Republican who wanted serious changes at the White House. Nope.

The closest thing we have is Trent Lott, quoted in this passage:

"If this is going to be ongoing, if he has a problem, he's got to step up and acknowledge it and deal with it," Mr. Lott said on Fox-TV.

Asked if he was urging a wider shakeup, Mr. Lott said, "You should always be looking for new blood, new energy," but added, "I'm not talking about wholesale changes."

So.. no shakeup? Sounds rather contradictory toward the headline. Three other Republicans are quoted in the article, and one says the situation is "serious," but all three downplay any greater implications or scandal.

I know reporters don't write headlines; it's the editors. But still - one might accuse whoever wrote that headline of ignorance at best, and I'm sure there are some who would cite it as just another example of anti-Bush bias.
